The Brewery at Bacchus is a young but growing brew pub known for exceptional Sour Ales & IPA's. Currently working with a 3 bbl system with plans of expanding to a larger system. Due to our small size the brewer is involved in every aspect of beer production & brewery operations.
Our Brewer must have:
A passion for craft beer & brewing, and desire to produce top notch, high quality beers.
At least 1 year of exp. working in a production brewery or brew pub with a working knowledge of all aspects of beer production (wort production, yeast handling, racking, fining, carbonating, packaging, CIP techniques, laboratory procedures, etc.
An excellent pallet and the ability to detect subtle flavors
High mechanical aptitude
An open & flexible mind, positive attitude & strong desire to learn
The ability to work independently, maximize productivity, and to lead & direct others
The ability to repeatedly lift 55 lb bags to a height of 5 ft and the ability to move150 lbs., and the ability to work on your feet for 8 hrs a day for 5 days a week.
Strong social skills, the ability to excel at working beer events, networking with the community, & interest in collaborations with other breweries & local businesses.
Social media savvy & able to promote our produce & brand
Production of wort
Management of Fermentation
Raw material handling
CIP of tanks and general brewery cleanliness
All aspects of cellaring operations & barrel management
Working as a representative of the brewery at festivals & special events
Record keeping for tax filing, maintaining percentages & pricing
Ordering & inventory control
Managing marketing & social media for the brewery
All candidates must live within a 30-minute drive of New Paltz, NY or be willing to relocate at your expense.
Compensation will be competitive & based on experience.
