Sales Manager - South

Sixpoint is a Brooklyn, New York based craft brewery, born out of an 800 square foot garage in Red Hook in 2004 by homebrewer Shane Welch. We are currently looking for a star-performer South Sales Manager to expand the Sixpoint footprint across his or her territory.


About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Outer-Market Sales Director, the South Sales Manager works as part of the Sales Team and is responsible for achieving key sales objectives through managing assigned distributors, developing new accounts and maintaining current accounts within the territories of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. The position is responsible for building awareness, brand equity, excitement, enthusiasm, and indelible positive customer experiences. This will entail motivating and inspiring our wholesaler partners, monitoring key marketing initiatives in the territory, training and mentoring our sales representatives and developing proprietary and engaging events to stimulate our customer base.

  • 3 – 5 years of industry experience

  • Experience developing quarterly and annual strategic business plans for achieving budgeted sales figures for the defined region

  • Experience developing promotional strategy for regional area in conjunction with on and off premise events

  • Ability to maintain and build sustainable partnership in the top 100 accounts in the given region

  • Ability to strongly manage both internal and external teams

  • A “marathon mindset” – meticulous planner, tenacious and determined

  • Strong judgment, professional maturity and unimpeachable integrity

  • High “digital IQ” - familiarity with digital marketing, mobile, social media and web, and the role they play in the sales process

  • Familiarity with CRM and industry sales data systems

  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Apps

  • Effective time management, ability to multitask, prioritize and plan different responsibilities and initiatives

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Certified Cicerone preferred


Fermented With:

  • Develops quarterly and annual strategic business plan for achieving budgeted sales figures for the defined market area

  • Recommends and implements sales strategies for improvement based on market research, competitor analyses and Sixpoint sales data trends

  • Benchmarks business data and sales trends for key accounts and provides monthly recommendations to Leadership Team and our wholesalers to aid in execution of the strategic business plan

  • Trains and works with Sales Representatives in order to fully develop best sales and marketing practices

  • Manages entire South sales team, ensuring completion of all onboarding and ongoing training

  • Procures draft line and can placements at identified key accounts in the territory

  • Designs and develops promotional strategy for defined market area in conjunction with events department for on- and off-premise events and promotions

  • Builds sustainable partnerships at our wholesalers and key accounts

  • Plans and leads monthly meetings (and more if necessary) at our wholesalers to further develop proactive action items to increase sales volume and mindshare in the marketplace

  • Maintains excellent working relationships with wholesaler sales representatives, Area Sales Managers and Marketing Managers

  • Collaborates with other Sixpoint Regional Sales Managers and Outer- Market Sales Director for cognition of best sales practices that support the Sixpoint business model

  • Delivers sales, distribution and merchandising goals at all accounts as needed

  • Maintains internal controls and safeguards for managing sales teams budget and actual expenditures

  • Clearly communicates monthly, quarterly and annual reports; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of status

  • Assists Sixpoint’s leadership and managers in the annual strategy and planning process; administer and review all plans as they relate to the South sales team

  • Supports the Leadership Team around issues and trends in craft beer sales

  • Ensures the seamless integration between Sixpoint’s heritage and marketing ethos in New York City and the South Market

  • Creates and promotes a positive and supportive work environment

Special Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle, clean driving record and ability to drive to and from accounts and distributors continuously
